The Rocky Horror Picture Show RETURNS
October 25, 2025

This October, the Arcadia Theatre will once again be hosting a showing of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Thank you to everyone who gave their feedback on the showtime(s) of the movie! We have decided to go ahead with one 10:00pm showing just as we did the first year we ran the show.

RHPS returns to the Arcadia officially on October 25th, 2025! Showtime at 10:00pm.

What's in the bag?

The kit provided by the Arcadia with every ticket includes:

Instructions, Time Warp Flier, A Small Bag of Rice, Noisemakers, A Small Bag of Confetti, One Roll of Toilet Paper, One Slice of “Toast”, A Party Hat, a Newspaper, a Filled Water Gun, Two Glowsticks, a Small Balloon

How to use the items and what is or isn’t allowed:

First thing’s first – we don’t want any damage done to our theatre, so anything including fire is strictly out of the picture. We encourage the use of a cell phone during “there’s a light”. We don’t want anyone to get hurt first and foremost. We are allowing some of the food items, as popcorn gets all over the place already, what’s some rice, really? However, there are some things we really don’t want you to bring, that are normally included. We’ll list them here.

Here’s another ground rule to get out of the way: do NOT under any circumstances, throw things AT THE SCREEN. We’ll clean the floor, but the screen itself is off limits. It is currently in one piece, and we’d prefer to keep it like that.

With all that out of the way, here is everything you need to know regarding props:

Balloon – Provided
  • During the song “Science Fiction Double Feature”, the move When Worlds Collide is mentioned. This is when the balloon should be popped.

Rice – Provided

  • At the wedding of Ralph and Betty, the on screen guests will throw rice. Throw it with them! Just be careful to not throw it at other people.

Newspaper – Provided

  • During the scene outside of the castle, you can put the newspaper over your head to protect yourself from the water pistols. Shoot your water pistol into the air and cover your head!

Large “J”-“A”-“N”-“E”-“T” Cards – Allowed but Not Provided

  • These cards are meant to be used during the song “Dammit Janet” when Brad spells Janet’s name, each card is meant to be held up as he spells it. Bonus points for putting “B”-“R”-“A”-“D” on the back! We didn’t include it in our bags because it takes coordination to do. If you can pull it off, go for it!

Water Guns – Provided

  • This year we have decided to allow the use of water pistols! We are providing them already filled in the prop bag you get with your ticket. This prop is used when it’s raining in conjunction with the newspaper!

Glow Stick – Provided

  • You can use your glow stick at any time! During the song “There’s a Light”, pull out your cell phone and start waving it like it’s Sweet Victory at a Football game! Lower the light again when the chorus says “in the darkness”.

Time Warp Flier – Provided

  • We have included a little piece of paper in your bag on how to do the time warp. Follow along with the movie – get up and dance during the song! Watch out for other people’s toes!

Rubber Glove – Allowed, Not Provided

  • During Frank’s speech at the tank when he puts on gloves, he will stretch and snap them three times. Try to do it in time with him! We did not provide the glove this year, but you are welcome to bring your own!

Noisemakers – Provided

  • During the “Lab” scene, the Transylvanian Guests use their noisemakers at the end of the creation speech. You do it too!

Confetti – Provided

  • Throw your handful of confetti up into the air at the end of the “Charles Atlas Song” reprise. The Transylvanians will also throw it, so there should be an obvious cue.

Toilet Paper – Provided

  • When Dr. Scott exclaims “Great Scott!” throw your toilet paper everywhere!

Party Hats – Provided

  • During dinner, Frank puts on his party hat, and you should too. Wear them however you like!

“Toast” – Provided

  • During dinner, after Frank is done carving, he proclaims a toast – throw it then, straight up, as if you were toasting too, but with toast… because puns. Please return the “toast” at the end of the night!

Bell – Allowed, Not Provided

  • Characters will sing “did you hear a bell ring” during the song “Planet Schmanet” – ring your keys or your bell then!

Cards – Allowed, Not Provided

  • We are not including the playing cards this year, because the cue is rather hard to hear, and it tends to confuse people. However, if you want to bring them, go right ahead! Be the guy who throws playing cards into the air! Throw them when Frank sings the line “cards for sorrow, cards for pain” – just be careful!

Hot Dog and Prunes – Not Allowed, Not Provided

  • Do NOT bring these. We really, really, really, don’t want to have to deal with cleaning that up, or the smell it will leave behind if we miss it.

What Else?

We want to reiterate a few rules before you go. Just so you know exactly what we want out of this experience to keep it fun and safe.

  1. The throwing of items (rice, tp, toast, etc.) is meant to be part of the fun. Please do not throw it at performers, other guests, lights, or anything else that might cause harm or damage.
  2. Please respect the theatre and the workers. If we talk to you about your behavior, or something you’re wearing, or whatever else, do as we ask so the production isn’t shut down. Don’t be that guy.
  3. If anyone is performing or saying things differently then how you’ve “always done it” or whatever, please leave them be. We’re all here to have fun. You might even hear something you like.
  4. Never make fun of someone for dressing up. That’s what half this experience is about. It’s Halloween time, and we’re here to have fun and be weird. Don’t discourage anyone from putting themselves out there. In that same vein, don’t get angry or jealous if someone comes dressed as the same character as you.
  5. This one is a little silly, but calling Brad an “asshole” and “neck lines” to the criminologist are funny when done right, but they should not be yelled every time those characters are on screen. It ruins it.
  6. Remember to not throw things at the screen!
  7. Be kind.
  8. Have fun!

Let's Do the Time Warp Again!

So you’ve probably heard of the Time Warp, but do you know how to do it? In addition to the video above, a graphic will be included with your goodie bag, but here’s a refresher on the steps if you don’t remember, or if you’re new to this.

If the video doesn’t load, here is a direct link: https://youtu.be/O8hTJKfjyqY?si=DQlOrqh0Dk5Fj6Da
  1. Start with “A Jump to the Left”
    a. Start with your hands over your head
    b. Bring your hands down with a hip shimmy as you jump to the right
    c. End with your hands crossed over your chest
  2. “Step to the Ri-i-i-i-ight”
    a. As the singers says “i-i-i-i” step to the right with each “i”, flaring your hands each time
    b. On the final “i” end with your hands and right foot out
  3. Circle your arms over your head to land on your hips and “bring your knees in tight” at the same time
  4. Pelvic thrust at least twice, but go crazy, as long as you stay in time!
  5. Swivel your hips in a big circle,
  6. “Let’s do the Time Warp Again”
    a. Jump to face the right, hands out in front and behind you,
    b. Jump to face the left, hands out in front and behind you,
    c. Step out and flare hands four times, as the chorus sings “again”
    d. repeat!
